Midtown Plaza 1962 - 2008 Irondequoit Mall 1990 - 2005 Medley Centre 2005 - 2009

Midtown Plaza is now being gutted for demolition.  If anything of historical importance is going to be disposed of, please make sure you contact me.

A special tribute to Irondequoit Mall will be added to this website for a limited time, along with a separate forum.  You can find photos in the photo gallery and please share yours as well.  Irondequoit Mall/Medley Centre closed on January 8, 2009 for renovations.  Parts of this mall will even be demolished.  An upscale shopping center mixed with a Westin Hotel, Regal Cinema, offices, and apartments will replace it.  I was at Irondequoit Mall with my family when its grand opening took place in 1990.  My Super Nintendo was purchased at Electronics Boutique in 1992 and I still have the receipt!  We shopped at Irondequoit until I moved away in 1995.  When I re-entered Irondequoit Mall in 2003 to buy a pair of Converse All Star sneakers at Foot Locker, I was shocked that it was dead!  Those big crowds were gone!  I was hoping it would come back, but Adam Bersin did not try hard enough.  I remember when he bought Irondequoit Mall for $5 million in 2005.  Adam bragged about investing $40 million into his "centre."  That never happened and he mysteriously disappeared a year or so later.  His website is also non functional.  Scott Congel is not any better, but at least he wants to do something with Medley Centre.  Whether it happens or not is another story...

Sister site: Greece Mall History!  Greece Towne Mall, Long Ridge Mall, and other shopping centers in Greece, NY are remembered here.  Also, please feel free to visit Rochester Subway
